A proposed law in Massachusetts for making Corporal Punishment Illegal has been proposed.  Do you think Spanking should be illegal?

Personally this is really about two separate issues; the first being should the government have the right to tell you how you can raise your child, second do you believe corporal punishment is a viable disciplinary method for children?  On the first I believe the government should stay out of our personal affairs, on the second I believe that every child is different and that corporal punishment may be necessary at times when other methods, such as talking to your child about their actions, are not effective.  What are your thoughts?

I agree. I don't think the government should monitor something that closely unless it gets out of hand.

But I don't think spanking is as necessary as some parents claim it is. I think it should be a last resort after you've tried other methods, not your "go to" first choice punishment.

Spanking should not be a law. Parents should be able to discipline there children the way they choice there is the HRS that monitors child abuse situations so there is no need for a law
